The women’s ministry of Westland is dedicated to fulfilling Christ’s mission by encouraging women with the knowledge that they belong to God and are dearly loved by Him, enabling women in becoming all they are created to be and equipping them for blessing others with the love, grace and truth of Jesus Christ.

praise God from whom all blessings flow....

2023 has been an amazing year for our women here at Westland. Our Connect events held each quarter provide opportunity for our ladies to get to know one another more. I believe this is a key catalyst for increasing a desire to serve but more importantly, a desire to pray for and encourage one another. Our 2023 Annual Conference was one of our best ever! Robyn brought a message on Saturday (and again on Sunday) that has impacted lives and thought processes across all age brackets. Hope impacts is our monthly outreach service to the homeless of Katy. The opportunities to provide food items and to serve the meals are now being filled at an alarming (amazing!) rate. We now also have members volunteering and serving on their Board of Directors. Our weekly in-person bible studies provide personal and spiritual growth for many of our ladies, changing lives and moving us into a deeper relationship with Jesus as we study, learn and pray for one another.

What will 2024 look like for our wonderful women of Westland? This is the question I pray over every day, trusting in the Lord's leading to bring us into His will and His purposes for next year. Some ideas that we are praying over are a Mentoring ministry, a Seniors ministry and bi-monthly get togethers for all adult age ranges for fun and fellowship opportunities. If you feel led to participate in the leadership of any of these, or have a suggestion that you are willing to come alongside of, we would love to hear it and undergird you with whatever resources we can should our leadership follow God's leading to get new ministries off the ground.

Lastly, I have to thank all of our  wonderful ladies who have had the opportunity to help in the arena's of serving, providing meals, setting up for events and of course, cleanup crews after events. I have been richly blessed by your love and support throughout 2023. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Blessings to you during this most busy of seasons. Please join us in prayer for all the abovementioned.

BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN
The Japanese art of Kintsugi is a process of taking
something broken and beautifully replacing it with
unique 'scars' that not only allow each piece to be
used once again, but refine its beauty in an entirely different way.

Our March 23rd Westland Ladies Spring Connect Event at 10am
will give us a chance to learn this unique repair method
with a hands on project. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE CRAFTY FOR THIS!

Our guest speaker will remind us that we all have 'cracks' from life's ups
and downs. BUT GOD, takes each of our broken pieces and fills our
'gaps' as He completes us to be used in a different way.
I PROMISE YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS THIS!!!

WOMEN

upcoming BIBLE STUDIES

The bible studies offered at Westland are encouraged to be 'in-person' to create connection between our ladies. A Zoom option is available in conjunction with the in-person study for those who are travelling, or live out of State, or who want to be a part of the group but physical attendance isn't an option. A Zoom log in ID number is emailed prior to the commencement of each Study.
(It is requested that if you Zoom in, please keep your video screen on so that we may get to know you and interact with you and not a blank or projected screen.)
For our in-person attendees we will meet at Westland Baptist Church at 10am until 12 noon in room 225 upstairs.
Sermon on the Mount
by  Jen Wilkin
Beginning March 5th, 2024
10am until Noon
Room 214 Upstairs, Westland Baptist Church

In His sweeping depiction of kingdom citizenship, Jesus utters some of the most familiar passages in all of Scripture. Most of us have only encountered the Sermon on the Mount in fragments, considering its subdivisions as complete teachings in their own right—a study on blessedness; a reflection on the Lord’s Prayer; a discussion of religious devotion, money, ambition, and relationships.
What if we navigated these three chapters in Matthew as they were originally heard? What if we read them as one cohesive, well-ordered message, intended to challenge us to think differently about what it means to be a follower of Jesus?
This 9-session study will give you the opportunity to do just that. Come and learn from Jesus, just as His disciples did.

REVELATION - Extravagant Hope
By Margaret Feinberg

What if God is saving the best for last?
Of all the books of the Bible, Revelation is the one that mystifies and unsettles people the most. From numerical signs to monsters, the book of apocalypse in the Bible can be difficult to wrap our minds around, but the message that Revelation really brings is hope.
In this six-session video Bible study (DVD/video streaming sold separately), Bible teacher and author Margaret Feinberg digs into John's Revelation to show us how the final book of the Bible reminds us of God's power and promises during times of great suffering and persecution.
In this study you will:
Uncover the supernatural power of Jesus' names and titles. Be equipped with tactics on how to overcome the wily ways of the enemy. Discover how to triumph through the blood of the lamb and the word of your testimony. Learn that, though life is not always fair, Jesus is NOT finished.
John, the author of the book of Revelation, was blessed to see what each of us longs to know, and he gave us a descriptive and poignant expression of the place, the end, and the eternity that God has promised to us. God has indeed saved the best for last, and in Revelation's pages he gives us the one thing we all long for—hope, extravagant hope.
AMOS - Jennifer Rothschild
Coming soon

Amos is often called a prophet of doom. And when you begin to read his prophecy, it doesn’t take long to realize that nickname fits. On the surface, his prophecy doesn’t sound like a happy formula for the good life. However, every condemnation he gives serves as an invitation, a cry for us to “seek God and live” (Amos 5:4). You’ll be invited to live assured, faithful, chosen, humble, justly, prayerful, and hopeful. This kind of living will bring us and others around us peace and true prosperity.!
Amos is promoting the God life, and, the God life is the good life
